As we all begin this week I want to bring to our attention the creation in which we live. This world that was created by our Father in heaven is indeed a beautiful place and we likewise are created by our Father in heaven. We all are created in His image. I set this as a backdrop to what I want to write about today. When God first created man He did so in His image and what He created turned on Him completely by the tenth generation. In Genesis chapter 6 we see a very condemning passage of mankind at that time. “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.” (Gen. 6:5-6). How horrible the thought is regarding this time in man’s history. There were only EIGHT souls saved from the flood that destroyed the rest of mankind. The question I want to broach with those who will read this is how far away from this are we today? Noah preached the entire time he was building the ark and no one listened. Are we getting there? I fear we are as with each day society assaults our conscience and our senses with things that can only be defined as pure evil. Noah was a man that “walked with God” that is not said of any man in the Bible who lived after him. I preached a lesson yesterday encouraging all there to consider how close to God one must be to walk with Him as Enoch and Noah did. They lived in a time when man was completely focused on evil and these two men served God wholly. We must take that example today and make ourselves those types of servants in the kingdom. Do we want said of the generation of our children what was said of the generation after Joshua and the leaders of the people passed away. “When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.” ( Judges 2:10). We cannot allow this to happen as servants in the kingdom. Let us take this charge today and everyday as we serve our God and let us see to it that we make every effort to help this, and the next, generation to know God as much as possible. Have a blessed day as you live before the Almighty.
